Waar daardie sug val sal geen iets grooei nie!
As a South African I am deeply concerned about the state of our country at this time. As we head into another long weekend with much time to contemplate the affairs of our state, it must be said that what continues to persist in this country, in terms of service delivery, violence, fraud, corruption, and mismanagement is just too much to swallow, without a massive sigh. Because what is to become of this nation and its youth, amidst this chaos that we live in daily and seem to get used to or accept. Trying to establish successful business practices are so difficult to achieve with stupid provisions like BEE, Quotas, Fica, Fatca, etc when there is so little integrity in the basics of the market place. Our currency is up and down like a yo-yo, because our utilities are killing us and how many more CEO's of parastatals suspended with full pay, or replaced, must there be to realise that there is no control from the top and our system and its people are a joke. I sigh heavily when I look at the loss of life in this country and not just with xenophobia, but with daily living, a complete lack of feeling for the basic of all rights, namely a right to live. The country is awash with criminals, high up on the corporate ladder and yet little, or actually nothing is done to rectify the situation. It is not just foreigners dying every day but South African drivers, useful farmers and innocent children and teachers. It is disgraceful how little value is being placed on life in general . Personally I am also so bored and irritated by questions of race in this country, when most of the ever growing youth of this country, were born into a new democracy and have no part in the apartheid history. It is time for the adults to start acting as such and to remind the youth that they were born into a country of fresh hope and opportunity and that they should protect it, instead of pillaging and stealing from the system. It is time to work and make something of this place and stop blaming history for all the "screw ups", when every day we reach new heights of stupidity and reckless governance. This country will never thrive under maladministration, corruption and incompetence. It needs a daily reminder and a daily sigh to settle us down and commit to working towards a future, that is stable, safe and secure. So on this upcoming Workers Day, maybe we don't need to attend work in the normal sense, but we all need to attend a self help course in becoming more tolerant of life and less tolerant of incompetence, help to educate the youth and step by step to regain a semblance of normality to this country.
