Speak up man!

Generally speaking men are pretty useless at talking about themselves or their feelings.  No matter how good they look or how super confident they would appear, getting words out of them may be difficult.  How are you doing - "I'm fine" or "good thanks".  Sometimes we feel like a hostage and need to be given enough truth serum or alcohol or we really have to trust the person or conversation for us to tell you what going on with us or within our minds.  "In vino veritas"  could be a solution, but since not all men are alcoholics and prone to spewing truths just because of a few drinks, there would need to be another way.  Statistically, 1 in every 3 men do hit the bottle and self medicate, to help them deal with their problems or feelings.  Others may seek help, but I am sure that the statistic on that may be especially low.  Perhaps the way to go would be to turn to writing, as apparently this can be the best way to get things off ones chest.  From an article I read, they suggested that one find a place where you are undisturbed, and start writing for 15 minutes, don't worry about the spelling, just write and be completely and utterly honest.  Translate feelings into words and give yourself a good spring clean.  It sounds like a fantastic option and will surely help to vent the feelings of anxiousness, anger, frustration and pain.  Just remember to have a plan to destroy the paper and don't leave it around on a laptop, phone or other visible device, that is if you value your life.  Worth a try I guess.  Will let you know!
